Here's the situation. Downloaded a Win XP service pack. After it was installed the computer kept locking up. I was doing a restore to the previous day and the machine locked up again. Had to power off and now I have nothing. I have cleared the CMOS and replaced the battery. Sometimes I get the message "CMOS checksum errot" or "CPU unworkable or changed." When I hit DEL to go into BIOS all I get is a blue line across the bottom of the screen. I am running an AMD 2100+ on an Abit KR7A-133R mobo. I see now that the CPU is being recognized as a 1500+" and I didn't change it. Using Win XP Pro. Man I could use some help.

Thanks in advance

Blue line instead of SETUP - common thing on Abit boards. Usually caused by a fan connected to the board or an USB device.

I'd try disconnecting the fan and/or using PS/2 keyboard instead of USB.
