Hello,

I have a router called an iCue Broadband Router IBR-600. I placed a password on it yesterday and when I tried to log in using the GUI interface, it does not let me. I have been using the following program called 'obiwan' at http://www.phenoelit.de/obiwan to try to remember the password was. No luck so far. I was going to look into 'hydra' when I read about it on this post.

About the router, it does not have a reset switch. When I opened it up, it only had four jumpers, but it did not help reset the password. It uses an http: web / gui interface, but without the password, the router acts more like a hub right now. Please, any other advice out there to help me get my router gui back.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the firmware of a router of a company that has gone out of business?

As far as the password goes, if you can remember what you set it to, try the following:

* Try the password in both upper case and lower case, in case for example you thought you set a lower case password but accidentally had the caps lock on.
* If touch typing, try shifting the position of your fingers one key to the the right or left in case you typed in wrong this way; ie: maybe you entered s instead of a and w instaed of q, etc.
* Try the password you thought you entered but substitute some letters for other letters on keys nearby in case you tapped the wrong key.

It sounds most likely that you entered a slightly different password to what you think you did, and this is why you are not getting in - if you are having trouble resetting the password maybe this will help.

The passwords I entered where all numbers. Now, I don't remember if it was a 6 digit, 7 digit, or even an 8 digit password. Just found out that hydra doesn't detect the correct response very for an http request. I have tested hydra on a cisco 1900 switch and ciso 1601 router with http gui interface, but hydra did not detect the correct passwords in the passwords file. I probably would need to go through hydra's source and see if http is recognized correctly.

The other method was somehow getting into the boot process of the router, but there is no console port for it. When I opened it up, it only had 4 jumpers. Probably used to upload the firmware or even a simple cable that watches it boot.
