Okay, I actually flashed my bios successfully. Sort of. Everything went like clockwork. Seemed fine. The new bios was recognized & the upgrade showed the version, etc upon boot up. However, every time the system is powered down, it will not reboot. Instead, I get a series of long beeps. Then I've got to manually reset the cmos (jumper on the board) in order to get it to boot normally again. In which case it works fine...until I need to shut down and restart. Any clues? I spoke w/ the bios tech who said something about a power issue in the binary boot string. They corrected this, sent me a new bios and the same problem occurs. help????

Have you tried flashing back your original version to see if the problem still occurs??

The board is an ecs l4vxa, bios is award 6a6lxe19. Yes, have tried all that you've mentioned. Funny, the system will boot normally only if I manually clear the cmos- I had started to load the os (w2k) and when it went into a normal 'reboot' during setup is when I noticed the problem. Any other suggestions? I've tried most of the tricks w/ the cmos (disabling l2 cache, udma, etc) to no avail. Error seems to be the initial power up.
