QDI does not know what chipset does and what does not...

http://www.qdigrp.com/qdisite/eng/support/f_vx.htm:
Q4. Does the VX series mainboard support the Hard Disk larger than 8.4G?
No, Because the VX Chipset doesn't support the Hard Disk larger than 8.4G.

That's very funny...

They should write instead:
"No, because we are too lazy to make new BIOS."

They're "BIG brand", but for example DTK has i430FX BIOS which supports upto 32GB.

hmmm... that is very interesting to know.
I have a VX mobo, P1 200MMX, what is the HD limit you say.. 8.4?

is this for all brands... mine was iPC , which disappeared a few years ago.
As usual with these funny name companies of course!

I don't recall who made the mobo, I'd have to check it later on.
