I have some "new" boards:
M918 v1.2A with EPROM
M558 (maybe) REV:3.2 - looks like the M558 at PC Chips Lottery but has no COAST slot (and there are NO solder points for it) and 2 cache chips are not installed. with ASD chip
Matsonic MS6260S REV.1.6A with ASD chip
M570 V1.3 (PS/2 port installed, only 1 cache chip installed)with Atmel chip

M918 starts but hangs after HDD detection, Matsonic untested, other two look dead.

Nice to see you're a 100% PCCHIPS supporter... :D

Not 100%, I have also a PC Partner TX board - it has nice jumper configuration tables printed on the PCB.
Now I'm downloading manuals and BIOSes to dig the boards out of grave :)

Would not be surprised if the Matsonic appears dead too. Don't you just love ASD flash eproms?

Matsonic is alive - only L2 cache seems dead. The ASD chips are OK - looks like hardware problems on the two dead boards. The M570 has CPU PnP which might not like my Pentium 100MHz.
The M918 does hangs with WAIT with both original and the latest BIOS. Today I tried GigaByte GA-5486AL BIOS and it works correctly :)

Just flashed the ASD chip on the Matsonic board using UniFlash. The new BIOS is there and the board still works.
Installed Win95OSR2 on the M918 board with GigaByte BIOS with PCI ATI Rage IIC- without any problems. Windows shows even DMA checkbox on the HDD but it unchecks itself after reboot.
BTW.: I read datasheet for the ALi M1487/89 chipset - it says that the IDE controller supports PIO4 max. I saw some RAID0/RAID1 registers there! Looks like it has hardware IDE RAID support - too bad that the BIOS does not support it.

ALI has a Win95 IDE-driver for the ALI-III but should work with 1489 - it contains some information in the .Inf file .
Do you use latest official GA5486AL Bios ? - it has many useful hidden options in Bios .

I will try the ALi drivers.
Of course I unhide all the options :) This board looks nice - I will keep it and sell some of the other boards.
