my xp home has become corrupt and I can not go into safe mode.
Before I restore with my restore cds, I need to backup my data on the
hdd.
I tried some Linux boot cds(runs in dos) without much luck to try to recognise a spare external usb hdd, but ASPI driver only recognise my old 64meg FAT16 usb stick and not my 60gig external usb hdd.
I think thats why so many people in the "notebook bios" category are puting in new bios to recognise there other USB hdd.

Because I lak these skills I thought i would pull out the hdd and put it in an
2.5" hdd enclosure and get my desktop pc to get the data off it.

Please if anyone knows how to take out the hdd, please send me an email

Doesn't it have the typical lid you simply unscrew off?
