The most common brands are: AMI, Award and Phoenix.
Award Modular BIOS,
v4.50PG - Award Software Int'l.,
v4.51PG - Award Software Int'l.,
v4.60PGMA - Award Software Int'l.,
v6.00PG/PGM - Award Software Int'l., - newer versions: Phoenix Technologies, LTD
Award Medallion BIOS,
v6.0 - Award Software Int'l., - however, it seems that the core was originally developed by both Award and Phoenix.
Phoenix BIOS,
all versions: Phoenix Technologies, LTD
AMIBIOS,
all versions: American Megatrends, Inc.
---
In the early 90's AMI was most used, but after a few WinBIOS releases that didn't turn out very well, Award became the dominating brand.
