120gb: 07/16/1999-SiS-620--CB649MSIC-00
flashed the Daewoo CB649M-SI file from http://wims.rainbow-software.org and it worked. it recognized my harddrive but once windows 2000 started up and loaded my computer would restart. it happened many times. i finally hadto reflash my old bios. any help would be appreciated.
Could it be a UDMA mode issue ? (see Collected Wisdom, "links to UDMA mode setting utilities")
Have you previously used a disk manager with that HDD ?
Have you previously used Windows 2000 on this motherboard (with your old BIOS ) ?

the udma links are not applicable to my harddrive Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 120gb
this 120gb drive is an additional drive for storage for my 4gb drive that win2k is running on.
have not been able to use the maxtor maxblast software because my comp hangs at primary slave where this drive is so i cannot get past it to use the program

....are you saying that there isn't a link which applies to your drive, or that you're certain it's not a UDMA problem ?charred wrote:the udma links are not applicable to my harddrive Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 120gb
Does the BIOS come up with a list of equipment on the screen after the memory test ? If so, what UDMA mode does it say the 120GB drive is using (with the patched BIOS )?
HDD manufacturers use 1GB=1000MB, 1MB=1000KB and 1KB=1000B, Windows uses 1GB=1024MB, 1MB=1024KB and 1KB=1024B.
So 120000000B HDD (sold as 120GB) is 120000000/1024/1024 = about 114GB.
