Alright, so here's what I used for the flashing process :
http://download.sudhian.com/faq/kt7/dow ... dflash.exe
Which is a bare Caldera DR-DOS bootfloppy containing only the strict minimum to boot.
And the GAT11DE.BIN image and AWDFLASH.EXE executable. I created the bootdisk on a Windows 2000 box and flashed it using the following command :
awdflash.exe
I enterde the name of the BIOS and backup.bin for backup (unsurprisingly).
When it failed, I changed autoexec.bat to add the awdflash.exe backup.bin line, and it worked prefectly.

ajzchips: I know this is an old post but I was wondering if the gat11de.bin file in the (Seanix Gatineau 128GB).zip file is the same one you have.
I tried to flash and it failed giving me all sorts of beeps and squeels.
My specs. are the same:
BIOS Date: 03/02/00
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 03/02/2000-i440BX-NS351-UA69KS01C
OEM Sign-On: Seanix Gatineau BIOS rev.1.1
Chipset: Intel 440BX/ZX rev 3
I'm trying to install an 80g Maxtor hd.
Thanks in advance.
BTW: ajzchips would you be able to send me the gat11de.bin file?
Thanks again

Actually ajzchips, don't worry about it. I used the Seanix Columbia patch instead and it worked beautifully. The motherboard is now able to recognize the 80G Maxtor that I installed as a slave.
Thanks anyway!

Just wanted to confirm it worked for me as well. Thanks!

I've got a maxtor 200gig model: 6L200R0 that I'm trying to add, but my bios won't recognize it, I tried the update here but it still won't go, are there any updates for a 200gig or 300gig?

As I understand it, you need AWARD BIOS v6 for HDD support beyond 120.
However W2K and WXP bypass the BIOS and apply O/S limitations to disk sizes, meaning that if the O/S supports the full disk size, you can utilize the full disk size within the O/S. (Mind you, with the initial release of WXP for example, that O/S still limits you to 120 - but with SP2 I am using a 200GB nicely.)
