I have a Biostar M5SAA motherboard. I have upgraded the BIOS to the newest one Biostar has released and it got me up to 64GB but I was hoping for a patched one that would get me up to 128GB. Anybody have or know of a patched BIOS?
Thanks.

Hi...I found your communications on this forum. I have the same problem, a Biostar M5SAA that I have been fighting, trying to go from a 10 GB drive to a 80 GB one. I downloaded the zip file for this from WIM'S and opened the file. It created a BIN file right below the icon for the ZIP file. I assumed that this did something to my BIOS. However, when I connect the 80 GB drive, everything still stands still. The BIOS won't recognize it. Any ideas?? WAYNEJDShaffer wrote:That worked perfect. Thanks so much for doing that. It is going to great having the bigger drives in this computer.
Thanks.
How To Upgrade BIOS Using Award Flashing Utility
------------------------------------------------
1. Download the BIOS file (in this example we will use VIT0312B.BIN).
2. Make a bootable floppy disk with Windows 95/98/98SE/ME. Windows NT/2000/XP WILL NOT work.
3. Copy the BIOS file and AWD826g.EXE to the floppy disk.
4. Restart the computer and boot from that floppy disk.
5. Enter "AWD826g.EXE VIT0312B.BIN" at the DOS prompt. Substitute your BIOS file for VIT0312B.BIN accordingly.
6. When the flashing utility prompts you "Do you want to save BIOS (Y/N)?", enter "Y" if you wish to save the original BIOS for backup purpose. Otherwise enter "N".
7. When the flashing utility prompts you "Are you sure to program?", answer "Y".
8. Reset the computer when flashing is complete.
9. During bootup, press <DELETE> to enter CMOS setup.
10. At the CMOS setup main menu, choose "Load Optimized Defaults" and press "Y" to confirm.
11. Finally, press <F10> to save and exit.
12. BIOS update is complete.
