I flashed the BIOS fix from this site, but it still doesn't recognize the drive.
Board is an old Abit AX-5 with Pentium 1 running at 200 MHz.
I had already flashed the last BIOS update from Abit prior to this.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Can you give us more details about what you see happen? The ABit AX-5 patched BIOS from this site is patched using Apple_rom's patcher "bp" and was tested OK with a WD 80GB drive. Take a look at the original thread for this BIOS, here.
Did you clear CMOS after flashing?

As Nick says, the patched BIOS from this site was tested OK with a WD 80GB drive. You have flashed the BIOS from Abit, which may or may not work with drives >64GB.
If the drive does not detect, it could be a BIOS limitation or jumper settings.
I advise trying to verify with Nick and/or other forum moderators whether the Abit BIOS will detect 80GB before proceeding any further.

@Ritchie: I think he was referring to the patched BIOS from this site, and he has a 60GB drive.
@d_b: If the bp-patched BIOS cannot be made to work with your drive it is quite possible that removing only the 32GB bug will allow a 60GB drive to work, so we can offer that version as an option. Can you provide full details of your drive model? Also, can you confirm that the BIOS now has a start-up message that (I think) mentions www.rom.by?

Yes, bootup displays www.rom.by v 4.00
The BIOS hangs at the disk detector.
I used Abit's awflash.exe flasher.
Drive is a Western Digital Caviar WD600 set to MASTER
Drive Parameters are LBA 117231408 60.0 GB
Current working drive is a 10 GB Maxtor
Btw, thanks for your replies!

Bravo!!!
You are a saint!
I removed the jumper and inserted it in the unmarked place where it comes from the factory, and voila!!!!
I also tried an 80 GB drive and it recognises it too.
Perhaps I am having a similar problem with the ASUS board. I will check that later and post if that's the case.
Again, Much Thanks!
