I am trying to install my new 250 GB Hard Drive, but the computer only recognizes it as 127 GB. I have worked all day to find a solution and I believe I need to upgrade the BIOS on the computer. I have basicly no knowledge on the subjuct, but my Bios is:
PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0
4W45B0X0.15A.0017.P12
If someone could explain to me, step by step, how to upgrade the BIOS so that my drive will be recognized, I will be forever greatful. Thanks
Andrew

Crap, yes it is a gateway pentium 3. How would I acquire this DDO software?ajzchips wrote:Gateway Pentium 3 board? I sincerely doubt you'll ever get support for over 128GB. I'd use DDO software from your HDD manufacturer.

No need for DDO software because it can't help with the 128/137 barrier .
-> If you want it visit your HDD manufacturer's website .
If you have Win2000 or newer or use Linux then create partitions below 128GB to install the OS und partition all above 128GB using Windows/Linux tools .
-> They are able to adress the HDD directly without Bios interference .
