I installed a second SATA hard drive on my PC, but it is not seen on the initial system check,
is not recognised as a boot device, and Windows doesn't see it.
However if I change the setting in the BIOS from 'Primary SATA, Secondary PATA' to 'SATA only' then the new hard drive is seen at the system check, is recognized as a boot device and can be seen in Windows. But if I do this I lose the use of the optical drive. Have spoken to several PC engineers and none have any idea what is causing the problem.
Motherboard: ECS 915P-M3
BIOS: American Megatrends v02.58
PC: Philips MT2400

Would much appreciate any help.
