Hi,
I have an old Computer, which I'm using as a server. Unfortunately the mainboard isn't recognising hard drives over 32GB. I have a Samsung SpinPoint P80 80GB (SP0802N), but it is only working when I limit it to 32GB.
I read a lot in this forum about a bugfix to solve the problem, but I couldn't find the right version for my bios.
Here are the specifications I got from the biosscan of this page:
BIOS Type: Award
BIOS Date: July 6th 1999
BIOS ID: 07/06/1999-692-596-8671-2A6LGB09C-00
BIOS OEM: VBE0706A - 4.51 PG
Chipset: VIA 82C691 rev 34
SuperIO: SMC 60x rev 0 at port 03F0
Manufacturer: VIA Technologies, Inc.
Motherboard: VT82C692BX
On the mainboard it says: Biostar M6-VBE Motherboard
I found two chips that say VT 82C693 and VIA VT82C5962A
I am actually a bit confused, because I couldn't find another mainboard whith this specifications.
So I would appreciate it, if somebody could help me, or send me a link with a bugfix.
Thanks a lot
*EDIT*
Another information I found on this page under BIOS IDs:
Via Apollo Pro Plus (692/596) chipset
