40GB: 06/02/1999-i430TX-S672-ATC-5000C

I was just about to give up on this until I discovered this forum.
I am running the same BIOS that is listed as the latest on this site, but I got it from a French FTP server. I flashed this new BIOS before trying the 40GB drive. The BIOS will not detect it. Hard drive utilities will, EZ-BIOS will as well, but that is not compatible with XP or LINUX or Boot Magic. My last thought was a Promise ATA controller, I even send them a mail asking about compatibility.

Does anyone have an other BIOS that might help me?

You were right. Maybe if I ate some dinner before working on computers it will occur to me that two files with the same name might not have the same contents!
