Hi,
my Notebook known as Vobis Highscreen Advanced III Chicony MP-989 with 13,3'' display doesn't recognize HD Hitachi DK23EA-40 40GB.
A Harddisk 20GB will be recognized, but not the Hitachi DK 40 GB. While the test by bios the notebook stops, but it doesn't hang up. Delete takes me to the bios-screen. What's the matter? Does the bios work wrong or the controller?
Bios tested with Update B0125L 1998/12/24 and B0135 1999/03/01.
Bios doesn't recognize HD in both modes normal boot, fast boot.
Bios updates vt17t02l and other vt... are disabling the display too.
Are you a user with this laptop? What kind of HD>20GB do you have?
Many thanks for answering.

But there's 1 Problem I wrote in my posting:
- The patch B0135 from the manufacturer is wrong.
The B0125L is alright, but not for 40GB HD.
But your link with your patch is dead (http://wims.rainbow-software.org/ajz/).
Thank you very much.
Let's see... in this one thread you've mentioned THREE models...
MP939 in your subject.
MP989 in your first post.
MP993 in the post right above.
...please be careful, since I suppose we're referring to only ONE system.
