I recently fitted a Maxtor 40GB HDD to a friend's PC. Although Windows 98 SE sees the HDD in Device Manager, the PC hangs when it tries to autodetect it. Only way to get into the system is to let the system run up without detecting it. Unfortunately, the disk is not accessible in My Computer or Windows Explorer. The motherboard is about three to four years old. It is a TMC T15VG+ with Award bios. I assume this is the 32GB limitation in bios although I would have thought that the disk would be recognised in the bios but reported the wrong size. Anyway, I would appreciate advice on how to sort this one. Any help appreciated.

40GB: TMC T15VG+
I have this BIOS for TMC TI5VG+ board "05/25/1999-VP3-586B-W877-2A5LEM2LC-00" - I think that it's the latest one. My AWD32GB shows that this BIOS has support over 32GB!
