At first - BIG THX!!!! :wink:
My HDD 60Gb detected after flashing.

So you can move this file to "tested" section.

But strange - all my HDDs detects with MODE 4.
I don't know why...
Chipset is VIA691, AFAIK it must support better tranfer modes, at least UDMA. :(

But it's doesn't matter as for me.

Download an utility from HDD manufacturer and set HDD mode to UDMA/33.

Sorry, but... WHY should I use an utility from HDD manufacturer??? :roll:
My HDD's already can support UDMA modes up to UDMA 5 !
The thing is the M/B can't determine this. And this is strange...
Cause of when I connect HDD's to another m/b WITHOUT using any utility - it show UDMA33/100 (depends on cable type)...

And what utility should I use? From which manufacturer? - I have different HDD's from different manufacturer, connected to m/b at one time.

Some BIOSes don't correctly support HDDs with UDMA mode greater than the chipset on the board can do (e.g. board can do UDMA/33, the HDD can do UDMA/100). Then you need to set the mode to UDMA/33 on the HDD(s).

But this utility is only for WDC HDD's...
I have no WDC. :(
There are:
1) Maxtor DiamondMax 16 (I found the utility, but don't test it yet)
2) Quantum ST (on Maxtor site there is NO utility for it, in specification they said that this model can only have UDMA33 mode max... but it also detects in MODE 4 ! :evil: )
3) some Samsung HDD (I don't remember model - need to reboot. By the way, link to Samsung UDMA Util at "Collected Wisdom" is BROKEN!)

Well, tomorrow I'll try to use Maxtor util... 8)

Does the Bios detect Mode 4 or UDMA Mode 4 ?
If it's Mode 4 then UDMA might be disabled in Bios - check it please !

Mode 4. Not UDMA mode4.
Of course, UDMA enabled in BIOS... :(

Thanks, it's fixed now. Thanks also for the feedback on the BIOS.
If they all show PIO Mode 4 (not UDMA mode 4) even with UDMA "enabled" in the BIOS .... it sounds like the BIOS is not very clever. :? Maybe worth considering an add-in board 9e.g. Maxtor/Promise) with its own BIOS if you need to keep the mobo and want to improve performance ?

No, thx, it's not necessary...
That's enough for playing MP3 and MP4, and that's all I need...
I just was surprised when saw PIO Mode 4 on 60 Gb HDD. :lol:
