60GB: Compaq Presario 5502

I´ve got a Chaintech 6BTA2 (OEM)-Mainboard in my Compaq Presario 5502,
as i tried to change the harddisk against a bigger one (60GB), the System
hangs.
Then i was searching for an actual bios version, but the available Versions
for my mainboard requires a 2Mbit flash-chip. The built in flash-chip is
only a 1Mbit type.

Can someone help me ?

Does it have real BIOS or some Compaq crap?
