I found a patched (?) BIOS file 'Biostar MB-8500TTD on wins. rainbow-software.org. I have MB-8500-TVX-A mobo and need support of bigger HD. Will this file work or do I need another patched BIOS file.

I have AMI Bios 51-1130-001223-0111111-071595-82430vx-f.
Chip is marked 586 copyrite 1985-95 E578030

You need a different file.

I don't know where to look for such a file. Maybe none exist. Can you direct me to programmer that can produce such?

Your BIOS is hard to patch, since it's an AMI BIOS. Have you checked for the latest version at BIOSTAR's site?

i have the exact same mobo and BIOS, and have the same problem too. I really need a new bios version.

edvaughn, does your BIOS hang once it detects a hd bigger than 8GB?

They will send you an updated BIOS for about $70. You need to know what I/O chips you have ie. UMC or something else.
