Hey folks

I have (maybe a stupid) question.

Trying to get AHCI configured, my system crashed during boot process. So I reset my BIOS back to the previous settings, then I get the "ntldr NOT FOUND" error on the boot screen. I ran a live cd version to check the drive and it was there. Then I ran in "Pause" mode during boot to be able to read the info and noticed that the HDD device order had changed. So I unpluged my HDD's in removable trays and got a full bootup, but in the "Disk Management MMC" my hard drive that has my O.S.'s on is seen as "Disk 1" and the hard drive that is a data drive is seen as "Disk 0".

How does this happen and how do rearrange it for correct detection order?
Thanks

I hope this info helps.

Not sure how that happened but
a) you may want to try and switch the sata cables between your main drive and the removable rack one.
b) if that doesn't work you need to adjust your c:\boot.ini file with the proper disk pointer where the ntldr is at. Most likely it's looking for that on disk0 (your data drive) now.
