Fic VB 601 don't recognize maxtor 40GB

hail people.....i'm new in the forum, and i come here because i need help with a BIOS update.

I have a tower with MB fic VB-601 , and i need upgrade this tower with maxtor 40Gb , but the board don't recognize the hard disk, when i try this, the board had this parameters:

Board: Fic VB 601
PCB: 1.3
BIOS: Award
Vrs : 1.15MI13

I try update to this version :

Vrs: MI413

But the problem continues...

Exist one update to solve this problem , is the MI415 , but i think this update it's only for PCB 1.4

Anyone could help me? Sory my english.... i'm portuguese ;)

And the board is Fic VB-601 , not Fic VB-601-V or its the same?

This is compatible with PCB 1.3 ? if it is i want..!! ;)

It's the last revision for all non 1.4 PCBs which includes the 1.3 so yes.

Ok....there's another problem now....
I upgrade the bios for this version, and...The disk is recognize by the system!!! ;)

But....

I format the disk in NTFS mode to install XP, and when the system reeboot after the instalation begin, he gives me an error that could not inicialize the system....:S

Problem solved... ;) with help of linux command line one mate put the disk sectors =0 and format the system again...when he reboot, start to install the system....ThANKS!!!!! :wink:
