This is not a problem but just some information.

I had a HDD detection problem a while back including a WDC 80GB drive initially detection correctly as 80GB but then sometimes after a reboot resetting the drive setting in the BIOS back to 32GB.

Initially I was wondering if this was due to a BIOS bug that I was unaware of (as I had used these kind of large drives on this BIOS before).

Turned out that the drive was faulty and the fault was causing this behaviour. Just thought it might help people to be aware that drives can do this. I don't know if only WD drives might do this or if other brand of HDD can as well. After identifying the drive as at fault I replaced the drive and no problems since.
