Windows 98 does not recognise my Maxtor 40GB drive;
After flashing Bios of my DFI CB60-V3 MB the drive is
well recognised by the BIOS

Partition Magic still claims there is only 32 GB present
Norton stops checking the drive's partitions

Who can help?

Hello,

I got a creative thought; I removed my scsi-interface card and therefore the second disk. result: W98 got the message and recognised the full 40GB!!

Next question: how can I make this happen <<<<with>>> scsi drives installed????

What size(s) is/are your partition(s) on the IDE drive?
Flash your BIOS at your own risk.

Matthijs: what SCSI card is in there, what bios revision does the card have and are you using the latest set of drivers for that card? Not necessarely win98 at fault here, have seen stranger things with old SCSI bioses/drivers...
