IBM Hard-disk not recognized at all

I have an IBM HDD 40GB and old ASUS motherboard.

However my computer won't recognize the HDD at all. I was looking over the internet for weeks and here are the closest solutions. But i was reading about 32GB/64GB cap and my HDD isn't recognized at all, It hangs at auto ide hdd detection. I won't even mind if I have 32Gb (I have 6GB now). So if someone can help me I would appreciate it. And I never flashed any bios so if someone can shortly explain the procedure. I'm not total newbie but don't want to lose my motherboard. Thanks

and I forgot to mention that I was looking at wims.rainbow-software.org but I'm not sure if any of those bioses are working for my MBO.

Set the clip jumper (consult the sticker on your harddrive or the harddrive manual or even the IBM(Hitachi now) support page about the jumper) on your hdd and the bios will recognize it as 32GB hdd without crashing. Windows XP SP2 is able to detect the correct size (40GB) of the hdd after booting. If you need to create a boot partition on the hdd while clipping it to 32GB make sure the partition is completely within the space the bios recognizes.
