i've searched through almost 3 years of old posts here and cant find the exact things i need to help me so here goes -
I have a really old Pentium2 system, Pacard Bell 350MHz, with a Tacoma mobo (MSI 6119) flashed AMIBIOS from 1.41 to 1.9 from the Pacard Bell site.
I've an 80GB IBM (hitachi) DeskStar hard drive i want installed to the system, but the bios hangs when auto detecting the drive. if i leave the bios alone so it doesnt update the system hangs when trying to locate the drive for itself when booting up.
I though flashing the bios may fix it - it didn't.
i noticed links to wims.rainbow-software.org for updated bios versions for the 6117 mobo that remove hd limits but not the 6119. is there one that can fix it?
or can i input the settings for the drive manually, if so, what are they?
i have no idea what to input for the sectors, heads etc.
any help appreciated
MSI 6119 mobo AMIBIOS not seeing 80Gb HD. Help!

AFAIK no further update for the MS-6119 AMI Bios. You either have to buy a PCI ADd-On card with its own Bios or crossflash to MS-6119 Retail Award Bios. You will lose any PB warranty and you need to pick the Bios for your board revision.
