Should be an Intel Flashrom, it needs 12V programming voltage. Also the board needs to be able to unlock the Flash protection, AFAIK a special pin must be 12V-powered to unlock.
Check for a Flash voltage selection jumper.
Maybe newer Award Flashprogs are incompatible with this old Intel flashrom, try Uniflash - www.uniflash.org

Yes it's Intel flashrom ..
I tried uniflash but it can't write.
The manual don't say for a special unlock jumper.
I checked all settings in bios but it hasn't option to unlock bios flash.
I found the datasheet here:

Please help!

Hello. I'm glad this topic is relatively fresh. I'm looking to do the same, flash the BIOS on my TX 400... The flash utility I'm using comes direct from the website. It says... *something* "bad" or "bad" *something* (bad table?)... is there anything I need to find on the board to get some help? I can take pictures with my digital camera if it helps. I know it's the 1.4 BIOS I need to use. So if you're sure that I need to apply a voltage to a pin, I need to find the pin and know how to go about it.
Thanx
Update: I just read the wisdom piece about hot flashing... do I absolutely need to do it this way, or is there a shortcut? The BIOS is in working order. I'd rather not take the chip out or solder anything, but I think I have all the ingredients for the adapter, and I can borrow a multimeter, if I have to.
