Hi there.

If you have a HP e-Vectra e-pc c10/s10 and want to connect 2 IDE devices to one IDE port you get the trouble of only the master being seen by bios.
This because HP coded this setting in its bios and it cannot be changed.
For OS installation it is handy to have this enabled due to lack of floppy and slimline cdrom (on some models).

So after looking around i found the AMIBCP v7.60.04 program that can be used to change the bios romfile.
Little change made to the settings and IDE autodetection on master/slave is enabled on both IDE controllers.

Here's how to use:

1) Extract the archive and put it on an USB floppy or harddisk that boots into MSDOS. (only the 2 files underneath are needed)
2) Start the "FlashTB4.exe" program.
3) Select the "INMOD.ROM" rom file and flash.
4) After reboot go into bios (F2) and reset to default.
5) Reboot and see your IDE devices get detected :)

Contents:
FlashTB4.exe (original flash utility that came with HP bios update IN0203)
IN0203.ROM (Latest bios from HP)
INMOD.ROM (Modified bios)
AMIBCP76.exe (Bios modification tool from AMI v7.60.04)
...Rest of the files original content of the "edb002en.exe" HP bios update.

I hope this helps a few people who went insane trying to install WinXP on a floppy/cdrom-less machine.

PS: if the file links die, just use the AMIBCP76.exe, load the in0203.rom file, go to "configure setup data", then "standard setup" and modify IDE detection on all 4 entries to "AUTO".
DO THIS IN PURE DOS!
