Pulled some chips off a couple of dozen boards over the last month, most of which have been scrapped,
also pulled the bios's off the chips before erasing them, some of them have strings that turn up zilch
when doing a www search...
Here's the download of them, hope they're of use to someone...

Re: Home made bios hotflasher made on the cheap...
Yeah same here, I had 3 systems setup down the back of the workshop for flashing the different chips, though after discovering this trick on the PC-Partner/Octek boards, I've cut it down to 2, & just keep a jumper picture handy for the different chips on this one Octek board... I had one of the 3 al...

Home made bios hotflasher made on the cheap...
I figured on sharing a gem of an idea I found some time ago, regarding PC-Partner & Octek motherboards from the 1998 to 2001 period, {though i'm sure "most" Octek boards are just re-branded PC-Partner boards anyway}.. All boards I've found that were manufactured by these 2 companies, seem to always ...

Re: uniflash "file size does not match Rom size"
Both the BIOS ROM and BIOS Flash Update Tool, you should use the one that is exactly meant for your board. And exactly from your maker's site. for example, Intel mother board from ASUS: Dont use BIOS ROM or Update Tool from Intel site. Use the one from ASUS I'm guessing you're not referring to my p...

Re: uniflash "file size does not match Rom size"
Bit of a bump I know, but I had the worst luck with this board recently... After 3+ years i've finally made the time to build myself a better server than the dual P3 600 system I had, I've been buying parts for this Tyan board bit at a time, good video, good case with plenty of air circulation via 6...

I was just about to send you the updated bios again, when I thought I should have another look at it with another bios editor, just to be safe... & whilst it's similar to yours, eg:34234A instead of 34234B, I might hang off using it just yet... I'd wait a bit & see what others here have to say 1st.....

Looks like I've archived the entire I-will sight in April 2006, or so I've written on the DVD backup of it... Here's the download of the latest released bios.. I have the manual too if you want it... let me know..! Just opened it up to confirm it was the right one before posting... Whilst yours is 3...

I managed to archive the entire Epox ftp 2 years ago, & luck has it, I have the bios update you're looking for... I just opened it up with modbin6 to confirm it.... It was the same bios in the 4G4A & 4G4A+ folders... In fact, I seem to have every release of bios for this board previous to this lates...

The hard-drive itself has jumpers to determine whether it be a slave or master... If your system was OK until it locked up, then i'm assuming you don't also have another drive like a CD/DVD rom, or another hard-drive connected onto the same ribbon/cable as the one with the operating system on it... ...

The bad caps issue that edwin has mentioned is the most probable cause for your problems... This board below was in a friends system since new, he also recently changed a drive & started blaming the drive for why XP wouldn't install on it, claiming that the system was fine until the old drive crashe...

It's possible the bios won't show 100MHz due to a 66MHz CPU in there. That might change when a legal 100MHz FSB CPU is put in there. I have a few lying around here. I still don't have any pictures or bios backup file... That was my thought too as I logged off yesterday, often, if the motherboard de...

Not that it'd be much of a speed improvement, but the OP could probably also run a slot1 to 370 convertor & bang a 533 celeron into it, thier as cheap as chips, still only 66fsb though... This board is a 1st for me, I've not yet seen a BX chipset board that didn't support 100fsb from the factory, ZX...

It's string is "09/30/2005-K8T890-8237-6A7L5PAAC-00"

You want Jetway bioses? Or original bioses in general for your dead boards? I was looking for the original bios for this J-656B Board... The Jetway one makes the board work, but the Mr-Bios bios flashed onto the Jetway bios renders the board dead.. It's easy to put in 8 IDE harddisks, just make sur...

Hey I know this is an old post, but landed here when looking for an original bios for this very board... I got to sorting out some trash tonight, but remembered that I have all these Mr-Bios Bios's that suit these old fx chipset dinosaurs... The board I have here is marked with big letters that say ...
