When I try to put off and then put on the main switch behind CPU, the screen shows desktop with shortcut icons on it and it looks if it is starting/ activating, but then suddenly the message comes on the screen, 'DPMS OFF MODE'. Sometimes the message would be, 'CHECK THE SIGNAL' Please guide! Thanks...

hi, getting DPMS mode off on a machine with Windows 98. Sometimes the message is check the signal. Tried a lot, didn't work.
Can you suggest something.
