Yes i have the jumpers set right, i have set it as the primary master, i have set it up as the primary slave with a 4g HD as the primary master. I have chosen the cable select setting....everything that the book has said i have done..

I am trying to install a 80G WD hard drive, and i have it patched up to the 2.a version that supports drives over 64G and has a date of 08-21-2000 on it. The problems is that once i connect this drive as primary or slave the system boots , sees the drive and then locks up after it goes thru the disk...
