It reads ATC-5040.
I'm currently trying different bios updates to see if the checksum
matches and that I might have missed it.

It's indeed tricky. I've tried almost every bios update from the atc-50xx range including the 5020 and I got the checksum error every time. Nevertheless I'll just try your update files it just might work. Btw. after the update I got the 2nd ID string listed in your post. Thans for your quick reply, ...

I've just bought an 80 GB Maxtor disk and stupid me forgot to check if my mobo could see/use it. Anyways I rememered this site and checked for a bios upgrade and found it. Or so I thought. :cry: When starting the update (Award bios, I used awdflash v 8.12) it complained about the checksum so I abort...
