first of all im swiss and my english wont be the best! :?

jo, because the a7s333 from asus has some problems with the plug and play i decided to flash the beta bios 1004.100 on it. th first strange thing was, that this beta had the format System.ROM.

i used aflash and it gave me a warning, that this flashrom wont be compatible. i flashed anyway.. 8O

when i start the computer now there comes a long an two short beeps and the floppy seems to work. all other components are dead.

so i tried to reflash my bios from a floppy.

first problem: i made a backup but i cant use it anymore because it has a crc-error. so i downloaded the older bios 1003 (as331003.awd).

second problem. it wont work ;)
i tried different boot discs.. some with only an autecec.bat, the flasher and the file.. others which start a complete dos and i manipulated the autoexec.bat.
i wrote:
aflash.exe as331003.awd /py /sn
a:\aflash.exe as331003.awd /py /sn
awdflash as331003.awd /py /sn

the floppy seemed to boot correctly and the the led was lighting for about 15 seconds..

but when i restart the pc it beeps again.

may i need a step by step guide.. :?

i read the faq and many other posts... but it still doesnt work.. :x

thx for replies!!

You may want to try adding /cc /cd /cp switches too, or manually clear CMOS after the bootblock flash.

Did you leave it for about two minutes after the led went out ? alternatively, /R should force a system reset when programming is complete.

i added all the parameters u gave me and i wait for 5 minutes. after that i switched the computer of and cleared the cmos manually.

baah, no succes!!

i have 3 files on my floppydisc:

awdflash.exe
as331003.awd
autoexec.bat

in the autoexec.bat is the following line:
awdflash.exe as331003.awd /py /sn /cc /cd /cp /r

this should be correct, shouldn't it?

may the problem is, because i have a *.awd and not a *.bin file?
i have no idea, what could be wrong..

now i think i know what the problem is!!!:

i extracted the 1004-001.zip to 1004.001.
because winrar opens my files with .001 i thought, its packed again. i opened the file 1004.001 with winrar and there was a new file System.ROM. at this time i thought thats correct that this file was packed twice..

then i flashed my bios with the system.ROM instead with the 1004.001.

huugh, i hope that someone has a solution for me!!! :?

thx for all good tips!!
