Now I've tried different PSU's and RAM, but no joy. No POST. :(

The good thing about this board is that it has a multi segment LCD display on. It always shows "9.0." who, which the manual seems to think is a BIOS issue.

Ok, I peeled off the sticker on the original BIOS, and it says "SST 49LF008A" on there.

So I ordered a replacement BIOS from this place:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0124614218

And it eventually came, but it says W39V080FAPZ on it! I e-mailed the place, and they said:
"I think the BIOS (W39V080FAPZ) will match with SST 49LF008A."

Fair enough. I tried out the W39V080FAPZ, and still, no POST!

Is the board dead or should I try and get a working SST 49LF008A?

Just tried it with no BIOS chip.

Still says 9.0. when I turn it on.

What does this mean?

it probably means that there is something wrong with the mainboard and it's not the bios chip we're talking about..

What else on the board could I check?

It it worth checking voltage is getting to the CPU? I've got a multimeter. :)
