Hi,

I have a problem I have never seen before.

When turning on my machine the computer will start to boot but will 90% of the time hang during the Bios screen.

Sometimes it locks at the very beginning and only shows an incomplete screen.

An example of this is instead of showing the little award ribbon in the upper left corner and the set of numbers that are there it will only show the ribbon no numbers.

I also get other various bits of missing or incomplete info. Then the machine hangs. If I reset several times the machine seems to boot correctly. I am at a complete loss.

Should I try to flash the BIOS in an attempt to recreate it?

Is my board hopelessly gone?

Here is what I run:

Asus A7A266 board
Athlon 1.0Ghz
256 Ram (one Stick)

Anyone have any ideas?

Good call there Soupy.

Tested the RAM stick and it was bad. I didnt know that memory could have intermittent problems like that.

Thanks for your help
