Hey all First post here after reading for a few days and not finding a working solution.

Here's the rundown. I have an ASUS A7N8X-E Dlx. I found that Silicon Image put out a new bios for the raid controller (42.70) Mine is 42.47 which is included in the latest "official" 1013 from ASUS. So I used cbrom602 to insert the new 42.70. I flash the modded bios and all is well, until the reboot when I get a faild bios checksum error. No big deal I have bootblock.. No quite so. I insert my disk with awdflash and my oldbios.bin and get an error message saying "Source file not found" No matter what version of awdflash I use or what I name the *.bin file nothing works. So I borrwed a friends A7N8X and hot flashed my chip back. All is well, but I am really itching to use the new raid bios as most report a pretty hefty performance boost.

Any ideas as to why the bios mod didn't take or why the bootblock failed?

TIA,

BT :D
