I attempted to flash the bios on a Gateway 825GM computer with intel D915GSN mobo http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/I ... sp27.shtml
from windows. It restarted and copied files succesfully, then restarted. But the screen stayed blank, and it won't boot, even after numerous tries. The
only way to boot is to put the bios config jumper in maintanence position, then it will boot. I tried putting the bios update
on floppy and doing a recovery, and it would access the drive for several seconds, then off again for several seconds. It would do that
for over an hour, but the instructions say it should only take 2-5 min. So that wasn't working. So I'm looking for the original bios file or
recovery file to make it work. Since it's made for gateway, I can't find the D915GSN on intels site. : ( Is there anyway to put the standard
915 bios on it, then put the gateway bios over that, since I can't do a recovery withought the gateway bios??

Check if the bios chip is on socket. If so, get it reprogrammed.
