I was playing for hours on my PC when it suddenly turned off. The LED was still lit but the monitor turned off. The reset button wont work as well as the power switch. i changed the power supply but nothing happend, i tried my friend's CPU on it, but it still doesnt work. I tested the hard disk, and it works fine. what could be the problem? did my motherboard crash? can it be fixed? please help!

well since everything works fine on another computer, and you bought another power supply ane it still dosent work. Then yes, it is your motherboard is dead. I once had a problem like this i had left my compter on for 9 weeks straight, and i learned that i have overheated the motherboard and it short circuit and i had the same problem as you did. So you should buy
another board.

I hope this helped you.

Are you getting any beeps at POST time?

Did you try to reset the BIOS to default?

I leave my stuff on 24/7...so it has nothing to do with leaving things "on for 9 weeks straight"...

the CPU fan doesnt spin and the power LED doesnt light up.
does it have anything to do with the video card or motherboard?

Are you sure the power supply is good? Is the power cord that plugs into the wall socket good?
