flashed 915p-a rev 1.1 with rev 1.2 thinking that was an upgrade not a different model, anyway tried hot flash with a asus p4pe and ami flash but geting a error 2 file does not exist...... help or ideas welcome, board 1 day old

Are you sure that file does not exist simply means that somewhere in the command line, boot files or flash program you have simply typed in a filename incorrectly?

I'd say filename not typed at all .
With AMI Flashprog you have to use AMiflash filename.rom like Aminf329 Bios.rom to have it start flashing
