I just flashed my BIOS.Maybe i should have left it alone.Oh i did it right. The reason i did it was for my BIOS to see my whole drive.
My motherboard is a BCM QS440BX.I flashed it to the latest 2/14/2001.But it still want read the whole 40 gig.It should atleast read 39 gig i thought. But anyway i use Belarc Advisor and the date in there has 11/30/99.But on boot up the date shows 2/14/01.This is kinda a wierd problem.I also tried the XP readyness test at http://www.pcpitstop.com and it said my BIOS was 11/30/99 and XP may not run properly.I had XP in this computer buit put Windows ME in it for right now.

The BIOS message "may" show 2001, while the BIOS string "may" show 1999. I've seen this often. WinXP looks for the BIOS date in the BIOS ID string.
The BIOS message only suggests that the BIOS update is based on the 1999 BIOS, and they simply haven't changed the BIOS string date.

You always have to consider the most recent date, which is recent enough for XP in your case.
