Sorry for the age old bump, but i didn't want to start a new thread when this is here
what i want to do is try to force the boot block on a SST 49LF002A flash ROM
I'm also looking at the datasheet and, being a complete newbie to electronic, i can't see where the high order address inputs are.
Board is a GA-8PE667 (Brookdale PE + ICH4)
EDIT: BIOS is PLCC soldered onto board.
Forcing boot block in corrupted award bios
I have also tried this shorting trick with 3.3V Flash ROMs being configured as Firmware Hub such as your Flash ROM, but no joy so far.
Anyone having success on this?

The FWH and LPC chips use serial bus instead of the parallel one. It's cheaper for manufacturers and the chips are also slow (comparing e.g. to W29EE011).
