I have this dead mobo and I was thinking of trying to fix it to beef up my smoothie.

Anyway here is what I tried? This board originally came out of a compaq, but its essently a stock intel 815eea. I have tried the bios recovery off of intel's site to no avail. It says to remove a jumper and iut should locate the floppy. It never does. I have tried two floppies and they both tested good on another machine.

When power to the board is supply, the cpu is getting warm. I have tested the cpu in another board and it does work. Same with the memory. I also tried a external 2 meg pci vid card and nothing. When booted the psu comes on and the cpu gets warm. No beeps, although you can hear a very light sqwak if you will from the onboard speaker. All caps appear to be good and not blown.

The only thing is the bios chip is soldered, so hot swapping is out of the question I guess. Any ideas? Or board is done?
