I was able to get into the bios settings of an Intel D845WN briefly. I have a POST code reporting card and the last code before it stops is 30, and the second last is 2D. All the keyboard does is flash all the lights when the computer is reset. I thought I needed to reprogram the bios so I did that with the recovery mode and a floppy disk but it has made no difference. On the screen there is a flashing cursor and the top left corner. There are not any PCI cards or memory that was not working with it before.

You did replace the CR2032 CMOS battery with a fresh new one?

A low power cell was the problem.

Thank you for confirming my initial thought. If that battery is really low the board may appear completely dead indeed.
