M6VLQ Biostar MB and Windows XP Upgrade???

Hope this is the right area for this...

I had problems with a PC I have with the above MB so I decided to reformat the HD and reinstall windows XP pro.

I fdisked the drive and re setup the partition. Then went and formatted drive OK.

Went to install Windows Xp and it hangs at the Windows setup page in the beginning. I am able to install Windows 98 SE with no problem and it runs fine. If I try to upgrade to XP, the install hangs at the same exact place.

Do I need a BIOS update or could there be a virus???

Any help, ideas appreciated!!!!

I'm not the XP expert but sou should try to force a non-ACPI install of Windoze XP. Should be available via setup.
