My girlfriend has just recently purchased a new PC, and she's given me her old computer that broke down a while ago.
My problem is this;
On boot it sounds like it's trying to read from the floppy disk drive, whilst displaying ''Auto recovery function:'' and then ''Please insert BIOS file'' every 2 seconds.
She apparently tried installing some anti-virus software from a corrupted disk, her computer stopped working soon after.
Does anyone know what has to be done to fix this?

I've opened up the computer and I've taken notes on the bios chip .

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd love to get this up and running again.
Thank-you
