I couldnt find a place for bios problems so i decided to place it here.

I have an ageing MSI-6117 Slot1 i440LX-Chipset Motherboard, that i decided to test, and POSTed fine. I used a bog-standard PII 333MHz processor and 64MB PC100 RAM.

However just AFTER the mobo and bios ok'd the system by ONE system beep, it displayed the CPU Informatio and then just hangs :(. The keyboard freezes and all that happends is that the '_' characted after the version continously blinks.

The AWARD BIOS version is v4.51PG.

I think this problem may be because of flashing from AMI>AWARD just as MSI had stated to do to add more functionality, and i checked it to be fine.

Is there anything i can do / a key i can press to get into an award flash mode?
Below is a rough sketch of how the BIOS screen looks like

Don't know if this is of relevance but after the BIOS beeps x1, the keyboard lights blink for a second time and then don't work (i.e. i can't switch the NUM-lock button on by pressing its corresponding button :/)

Please help me.

Thanks.
