Hi - new here!

I recently was given a tiny pc which had an msi 6160 mobo inside - I upgraded the 400 cpu to a 566 cpu. The POST always said 500 ( celeron BTW ) and ran fine. I saw somewhere that it could be flashed to see the higher cpu. So looked through the msi site and found a ami bios for the board ( newer version than mine ) so proceeded to flash it, but the flash prog AWD535? just kept hanging.

Ran sisoft and it said it was an 6159 so tried that instead. Upon reboot I had a dead board and a beeping. Have tried reflashing using the recovery proceedure but the 'oldbios' is also corrupt ( did get the A drive accessing and 4 beeps !! ) but still dead/beeping upon reboot. Even tried the unoffical BIOS and that did the same. I know this board is a bit of a git !!

Any ideas how to get this back please?

Your motherboard is a 440LX5 Series for Tiny, OEM Microstar MS-6160 with Amibios.
Latest known BIOS was A6160O1 V1.0LX5 12/16/1998.
I don't have the file, sorry.
Microstar MS-6160 uses Award BIOS instead.
More than 100,000 BIOS strings in my database just now!
