Hi,

I have tried to update my BIOS on a Medion MD6100 (FIC 2040) with phlash16.exe, but it failed cause I have taken the wrong image file.

Now I tried to reprogramm the flash (49LF040) with an external programmer, now with the correct image file. But it does not work. I am very sure the programmer supports the 49LF040. Reading data from flash was successful and I can see the by mistake programmed file with a offset of 43 bytes on the flash.

This ist the image file programmed by mistake:
http://home.arcor.de/andreasluft/md5400 ... 5_STDN.zip

This is the correct image file:
http://www1.medion.de/downloads/downloa ... xe&lang=de

How can I program the image in the above file to the flash. Do I need a offset, a bootblock, or something else? I expected some data at address 0x00000, but both update files begin with 0xFF.

I would be very happy about some help.

Best regards
Stefan

I am very sure the programmer supports the 49LF040.
What is the make and model/revision of your programmer? What software version are you using? What OS?
