I am looking for information on a K8N-DL Motherboard that will not POST. I sent the board to the Asus RMA Dept. and they report that the board is O.K. I am testing it with a minimum of Hardware which I believe is: Video:Getforce 6600 D256M :Processor Opteron 240 in socket #1 Memory : 1GB PC3200 DDR40 ECC REG. in Socket A1: Power supply is Antec EPS True550 12 Volt 550 Watt. All voltages checked with voltmeter.
I have two Matched 240 Opterons and have tried both , I have two of the Memory modules and have tried both in this configeration. Neither will post. Assuming that the RMA Dept is right thenI have two bad Processors And-or two bad memory modules. What is the cheapest Processor and memory that I can buy to prove this theory? What do you recommend as the best way to trouble shoot this board?
Thanks,
B.K.

You'll pretty soon see what the problem might be. Ask Asus what CPUs/memory/power supply they used to test your board with.
