Hi.

While trying to solve all the problems I have had recently with my com. (not booting at all. or booting after 12 tries, freezez and so on) I yesterday decided to upgrade my bios. Since I dont have an a: drive, I decided to use WinFlash. Bad Move. The com froze during the flash and I had no choice but to restart it.

Award BootBlock BIOS v.1.0

BIOS ROM checksum error

Detecting floppy drive A media...
Drive A error. System halt

The above, was the message I got when restarting. So I went to a friend of mine and borrowed a diskdrive a:. I made a bootdisk and put awdflash and latest bios fn25s028 on it. I actually managed to boot into the flashing-program. Now the following screen hits my eyes. And to be honest. I dont know what else to do. Please help me out here.

warning :

System was not new AWARD BIOS version !
Please update ROM BIOS first ....

Message:: Please input File Name

The marker stands at a:\> flashing. also the warning text flashes. So how do I proceed.? Since I got this far, it HAS to be solvable.

Best Wishes
Tobias

p.s I've read that this problem occurs when you have an old awdflash. Im using 8.22. Can't find a newer one.

plz help.

p.s 2. Should probably state that I have a shuttle sn25p. If that helps.

hey dude
I experience what u've been goin through right now, but mine is worst bec. My bios doesnt hav bootblock so its completely blockout.
bootblock is pretty cool w/o spendin time to remove flashchip and hotswap it to other mobo.

mine is sn25p updated to fn25s028 and boom it dies
I dont hav any idea whats so special with fn5s028 that it killed my bios and now hotswapping the chip to other mobo using uniflash wont work either
message:

unknown flash / or disable protection
eventhough i disabled the jumper protection
